Code of Ordinances

Code of Ordinances

The authority of local government is derived entirely from the state constitution, state statutes, and local laws. Within the guidelines set by state law, local legislative bodies may enact their own legislation which is generally in the form of ordinances and resolutions. Ordinances establish relatively permanent rules or laws for the community. The Codified Ordinances of the City of Traverse City are available in the City Clerk's office at 400 Boardman Avenue, Traverse City. They can be reviewed in the office or purchased.  If you have any questions, please contact Patty Aprea, Departmental Secretary, Office of the City Clerk, at 922-4445 or e-mail paprea@ci.traverse-city.mi.us.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the following ordinances.

The Code of Ordinances consists of the following sections:

Ordinance Establishing Moratorium on the Issuance of Permits or Licenses for the Sale or Dispensation of Medical Marihuana.
