All appointments are for three years, with the exception of the appointment of the City Manager, who serves indefinitely.

The Brown Bridge Advisory Committee consists of twelve members who are appointed by the City Commission; not less than 50 percent of the members shall be City residents. At least one member must be nominated by the Traverse City Light and Power Board; such nomination is subject to ratification by the City Commission. One member shall be the City Manager or designee/alternate and one member shall be a City Commissioner.

This Committee was established by resolution of the City Commission on October 4, 1993; on June 4, 2001, a resolution was adopted by the City Commission changing the composition of the Committee - - this Resolution supercedes the October 4, 1993, resolution and action of the City Commission.
