Traverse City Budget Dates– FY 2010/11:

April 19, 2010 - Traverse City Light & Power submits its proposed budget, with proposed Public Improvement Plan to the City Commission.  The City Commission refers the proposed Capital Improvement Plan to the City Planning Commission.to hold a public hearing on the plan and approve or reject it. 

April 26, 2010 - City Commission Study Session to review budget.  Additional sessions will be scheduled if necessary.

May 3, 2010 - City Manager presents Budget to the City Commission. At this meeting, a date must be set for a public hearing on the budget (usually in two weeks). 

May 17, 2010 - City Commission holds public hearing on the budget.

June 7, 2010 - Adoption of Budget Resolutions by City Commission (approving the budget).

June 8, 2010: Traverse City Light & Power adopts its budget.

June 18, 2010: Downtown Development Authority adopts its budget.
